The miracle of life is just that, a miracle.
It’s a very exciting time in life. You have watched your belly grow and grow and felt little kicks and jabs for months. The baby is finally here and wow is it a joyous time. Little feet and hands, coos and cuddles, and sweet smelling baby breath.
So much love.
But, at the same time, having a baby is a huge transition and change. This little person relies on you for everything. Your body just went through a lot in giving birth. Your hormones are adjusting and affecting your mood. Your family literally grew overnight and changed drastically.
Maybe you feel completely overwhelmed and sad or very anxious and worried. You just don’t feel like yourself. Maybe you experienced depression while pregnant and thought it would go away with the birth of your baby, but it hasn’t. Or, maybe you had a traumatic birth experience and are having a hard time processing it or making sense of it. It is estimated that 15-20% (source: postpartum support international) of women experience post partum depression or anxiety. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are very treatable.
You are not alone in how you feel.
You are not a bad mom.
There is help.
I have been helping pregnant and postpartum moms with anxiety and depression since 2011. Having suffered with postpartum depression myself, I understand on both a personal and professional level how hard it is to experience.
Let’s see if we’re a good fit.
